"This,
is God's Country"
- Clint Bowyer

Lakeside Speedway does - lots of it! It's the only place I want to be on a Friday night... in April of 2004 I even moved from Wellsville, Kansas to Shawnee, just to be closer to Lakeside! Of course, it didn't hurt any that it's just a few miles north of Kansas Speedway. My very first trip out to this track was on a date, in the spring of '01. I had been to Talladega twice, already hooked on NASCAR, and honestly didn't think a little bitty dirt track would offer anything close to the kind of thrills I had experienced at the Super Speedway. It sure is a good thing I can admit that I'm wrong (a rare event!), my relationship with the boyfriend didn't last very long, but nothing can come between me and my Lakeside... These days I sit in the family section with the Walker family and fans - a pretty rowdy crowd, especially when the #19 Modified of Duane Walker Sr. is out on the track! If you've become bored with the usual Friday night routine of a movie, dinner, bowling (I can't even remember what non-race fans do for entertainment), head on out to Lakeside - great food, breathtaking scenery, dramatic 3, sometimes even 4-wide street stock, Grand National and Modified racing. It's cheap too, 10 bucks for an adult to get in. As I write this it's Thursday afternoon, and I'm already pretty excited, I know where I'll be headed 24 hours from now - Lakeside. Hope to see you there! - by NASCarla

Sheryl, Pam & Pauline always get to the track early to save seats - that helps a lot, although it's caused a few rumbles from latecomers...

The Flying Falcons treated the 2005 4th of July Fans to a spectacular air show. Also took in some awesome fireworks, both on the track and in the air - Cool!

We keep telling our young, good looking guy friends that there are lots of cute girls going to the dirt track, not just to watch the races - it's a good place for socializing, too!

Never know who'll you'll run into at this dirt track - Judy Kay, NASCarla and Thad check out Matt Kenseth's new wrap.

Pauline Walker checks out the program...

The McCarthy Chevrolet Avalanche Pace Truck. Overheard conversation one evening "We want to race the truck."

...run out at Lakeside every Friday night - Sprint cars, Lawnmower races, even got to see some Motorcycles race this summer!
When the races are over we head down to the pits for some schmoozing with the drivers...Sheryl gets special attention from Modified #19 Duane Walker Sr. and Modified #68 Kerry Davis. Hey, and don't forget the 'token' kids - drivers are especially attentive to their autograph needs...

Clint Bowyer, signing NASCarla's hat. It's always so exciting when Clint shows up at Lakeside Speedway, we have watched him get better and better, makes us feel part of his success, at least fan-wise, that is!
The Party Truck - always sits at turn 3 - bet they get pelted with mud-balls - a dangerous (but exciting) place to be!
