Let's get this Kansas Party Started! Tailgating in the middle of Legends Mall, right across from the Speedway - doesn't get much better than that!
What a beautiful day we had! Weather was perfect, although a little windy, but things heated up quickly - the fast boys and girls were in town! And 3 Sisters were doing what we do best - schmoozing with drivers and Tailgating! Thanks to Scott Pennington (610 AM Sports) and Cassie Lane (Legends Mall) for the Invite, it was a blast!
A Mother/Daughter team: you won't believe their names either: Carla and Kathy! Only this Carla's all about Jimmie Jimmie Jimmie, and this Kathy's all about Jeff Gordon! Her Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo is pictured below, he even autographed it for her - Wow!! More about these two later!

"The Ultimate Tailgating Package" Kathy Beth put together this tailgating package for www.3sistersracing.com to give away - she's definately the Prize Queen! Lots of people registered (over 100!), we had to keep telling everyone that the tailgate (and the truck attached to it), was not part of the package.

Jim Baker brought out his #52 Grand National - sure looked purty beneath those Legends Mall Decorations!

Claudia Bivins, Judy Kay, Kathy Beth and Nascarla... who could know that four of the world's most loyal, enthusastic and dedicated race fans would all hail from Wellsville, Kansas??? The Race Fest powers to be picked a perfect spot for 3sistersracing! Right in front of a bathroom (thank you Panera Bread!) too!! We had the best seats in the "House", and the best looking drivers at our booth - how lucky can race fans get? We were set-up fairly early in the afternoon, so were able to enjoy most of the day talking to fans, watching drivers unload their cars, listen to some race stories... Not enough hours in the day for Terry Bivins and Scott Crystal to tell all their stories, not enough hours for us to just enjoy sitting and listening!! Terry and Scott had lots of Kodak moments with race fans!
Scott Crystal, driver of the #5 Modified at Lakeside followed his Race Fest appearance with a great weekend run at Lakeside, finishing 6th at the Capitol Federal Savings Late Model Showdown and Modified Shootout.
Terry Bivins came out of retirement earlier in the year, driving a Grand National at Lakeside. Lots of people who take their kids to local tracks every weekend came by to swap stories with Terry, who they used to follow when they were kids! It was cool to see that thrill and excitement of racing handed down from generation to generation. Also, very cool to get to know the drivers better for ourselves!

The 3sisters got Jeff Burton's autograph at the RaceFest in Kansas. He wasn't rude by any means, but you could tell he was a million miles away. I know the drivers have so many demands on their time, and they have people constantly pushing and pulling at them, they probably would LIKE to be a million miles away. But it's all about me, and he didn't give me the type of attention I thought was needed. He acted like he was interested in what we were saying, but you could tell he wasn't even listening. - Judy Kay -

Check out this mural of our Grandma! (below) We think Grandma Layton would be proud of our dedication to our passion, racing. It was such a great day for 3 Sisters - surrounded by Past, Present and Future Legendary Drivers, Cars, and Grandma legends, this was one day the 3sisters won't soon forget...it was, well...legendary!

Lots to see and do at The Legends! Judy Kay found a Stud - standing in front of the .... cafe. Drivers hadn't arrived yet, so this ride kinda held our attention for a little while. Gotta go back and check out that place, they have a mechanical bull - might be a fun place to hang out during the off-season...

Our imposing bodyguard, James, shows off his birthday present from Kathy Beth. Can you tell who his favorite driver is? He has such good taste, doesn't he, Nascarla?
This little fan got the whole bunch when the 3sisters couldn't get ours separated!
This guy (in the grey shirt) had the funniest line of the day. He saw our 20, 24 and 48 magnets on Kathy's truck, and said "Look, Tony, Jeff and Jimmie, the three sisters". That's funny, I don't care who you are!
Terry was definately in his element that day! He has the perfect combination of charisma, down-home humor and modesty that allows him to connect to all race fans. Jeff Burton should take a few lessons from Terry!
This Jeff Gordon fan (below) flew in from California for race weekend - she said she got lots of comments on the plane for her "rainbow" hairdo!! Her autograph is an actual Jeff Gordon autograph she had tattooed over. Yeoch! That's taking one for your favorite driver!!
Our very own Grandma - Elizabeth "Grandma" Layton. (Her mural is located on the Carter's building, on the northeast side of the mall, you can check out what these murals are all about on www.legendsshopping.com) If you want to check out Grandma Layton's amazing story see www.elizabethlayton.com.

People kept coming by to register way up til the last minute - we had exactly 100 entries! And the Winner is...
Linda Fulkerson!
Linda's relatives hung around til the end, so they collected her winnings for her. Which worked out well for us - we didn't have to spend the weekend running down the winner, could focus all of our attention on the drivers and races! Cool!
Pam Walker hams it up with a couple of her favorite drivers. Poor thing will never be the same...
A totally different kind of Horsepower!
Sheryl gets up close to Jennifer Cobb, a beautiful person, inside and out!
The New Toyota Camry - they all look the same to me...
Thanks Nece for rescuing us with the helium balloons! You're hired!
Randy Wayman schmoozin' with Scott Wimmer at Racefest. Unfortunately, this was the week Scott lost his ride. But we've heard rumors of him hooking up with RCR... The 3 Sisters didn't get a chance to get too many autographs from a lot of the Drivers that were there - but we did meet lots of Race Fans, and had a total blast!!
