#2 COOL for a HOT weekend! The Truck race fly-over got us all pumped up with the B-52 93rd Bomb Squadron - Man oh Man, so close we could touch it... Our Okie friends, Rusty and Tina Morton, couldn't make it this spring, so three of their friends kept their seats warm. We missed you two, it wasn't quite the same...

Country superstar Jake Owen takes to the stage prior to the Kansas 400. Quite the intro for the drivers - Jake got the crowd revved up for the real Super Stars of the weekend! This race was held scarcely two weeks after the Joplin F5 tornado, one of the deadlest storms in American history. Homage was paid to the town's victims and survivors, donations poured in - race drivers and fans are the most generous people you could ever hope to meet, and 3 Sisters are proud to be a part of that!

Here's our girl Jennifer Cobb, she has become quite the spokesperson for NASCAR, we love watching All Access on NASCAR.com. Sure wish she would get a rich sponsor to buy some horsepower!

The weather was sizzling hot, unseasonably so. We sure didn't have to worry about tornados this weekend! Clint Bowyer and Johnny Sauter dominated the day. But the final lap was all about Clint, his first win at Kansas Speedway!!!
Joey Coulter and Kyle Busch had been duking it out on the track for 5th place - Joey took it on the last lap - and I mean "took" it. Who does that to Kyle? So, Kyle tried to take it back on the "cool-down lap, which only served to make Richard Childress Hot - which isn't cool... Gramps whaled on Rowdy's face, course we didn't know that till we got home and watched Race Hub. In Kansas the cars tend to get all spread out, but it's a lot of fun to watch the races within the race - you hardly ever get to see that on TV. There are +'s for both options!

Another new tradition: our only tailgate is after the race. I know, it sounds like we're getting older, but the truth is, we're getting smarter. We aren't so rushed in the mornings, so we don't forget as much stuff - little cheerier mood, if that's possible on race day!

Chase Cross wore the perfect hat this day! He'll have to get a new one next year for when Clint goes to Waltrip Racing...

We were all sitting in the bank parking lot, wondering "Where's Randy?" He's never late, in fact - usually he's the one waiting on us! Turns out that he had a good excuse - and taught us to never heat waffles on a styrofoam plate... duh, Randy! OK, you're forgiven - let's go racing!

How nice to have a birthday on Race Weekend! Kathy Beth brought this awesome #24 cake for James, and we just had to eat it in the bank parking lot, before the icing melted - yummy!
This year we rocked a different approach for comfort - Kathy Beth's RA affects her for months after a big race, so this time we cranked-up the Jazzi - a wonderous machine! Especially comforting when you have two handsome escorts!

Blowtorch heat again today! The race was called the STP 400 - with The King himself, Richard Petty, starting the engines. AJ Allmendinger's #43 car sported the STP color scheme - pretty nostalgic, to say the least.
As Kansass rides, the race was fairly uneventful for the first half, the most exciting part being Dale Jr's slide through the grass. In the end it was all about fuel strategy.

#2 car won again today - only this time it was a Dodge, with Kesoloski behind the wheel. When K took a shortcut through the grass you could hear a collective moan, we all thought we would be cheated out of another burnout, and I personally would have to cross another favorite driver off of my (long) list. But, K had only detoured to grab the American flag from a pit crew member - he wheeled his car back to the flagstand and gallantly burned those tires, and his remaining fuel. Thanks Brad! Oh, and Jr. came in 2nd - so
