Ahhh, the first signs of spring... daffodils blooming, trees budding, that pretty robin hunting for worms in the front yard, and First Day of Practice at Lakeside Speedway! Revved up MY motor - that's for sure!

We've been holding our breath all week, this typical Kansas spring weather has taken us all down to our last nerve, but the rain, rain went away for this day - beautiful sunny day to break in the car! And the driver! It ain't easy being a Rookie, is it James? Sorry other drivers - we have our own Factory Stock this year, so my focus today was all on us... But I did get a few pics of other cars. Oh boy - so much shiny! In the beginning... Unfortunately, couple of motors blew, probably won't be any mosquitos around for the next week or two...

Connor and James Bivins

James received tons of very helpful advice from his Dad, Terry Bivins - and physical labor and support from son Connor and brother Scott.

James opens an early birthday present from his Mom, Claudia - a Winston Cup duffle bag - oh, the Memories! Thanks, Mom!!
We have such wonderful
families and friends - lots of support on such an important day in our brand
new Racing career! Shannon brought Jesse and his adorable son Dominic; Pam,
Sheryl and Pauline stayed to cheer us on, and Judy Kay and her brand new husband
Dane provided the most awesome, (and needed!) Tailgating fare, we just couldn't
have asked for a more perfect start to the dirt track racing season - Thank
you everybody for your help and support, we love you!
By the end of the day we were pretty worn out - but it isn't over until the
car is unloaded, the truck unpacked, and a big bowl of ice cream is eaten
- boogity boogity boogity!!!
