This is the kind of Horsepower I'm talkin' about! Wile riding to the track on the shuttle we were treated to this magnificant sight! - never dreaming we'd get to see these beautiful Clydesdales strut their stuff on the Speedway. Still get chills just looking at the picture!

Another sellout crowd for Kansas Speedway - we love our Races here in the Midwest! The fall weather was perfect - for summer! It was a little warm for the Cup race - but we sure didn't hear anybody complaining... Let's Go Racin Boys!!!

The Best Way to kickoff the NASCAR Race Weekend - Trackside on Friday night! Always a chance to meet a Driver or TV personality, and other passionate Race Fans. Lucky Zach - doin' some posin' with Steve Byrnes. Saturday morning it's time to hit the Souvenir Trailers - spotted Robby Gordon signing autographs - and hey - what's with the frilly parasols? Pretty - but a little out of place, don't you think?

This is what we love about NASCAR - all the colors, and innovative ways each track comes up with to introduce drivers - cool graphics on this little golf cart (I think that's what that is...)

There's the #2 car Clint Bowyer - home for a visit. Looked like he was in for the win, but a record-setting 10 cautions put a damper on that. Kevin Harvick was so dominant, took the win and gave us an awesome burnout. These Busch Drivers never let us down in the Winner's Celebration.

Friday and Saturday night of this weekend some of our group, NASCarla, Pam Walker, Sheryl Conard, Pauline Walker, Wanda Head, Kathy Beth - headed out to Lakeside Speedway - Clint Bowyer's home track - check out his Modified! Big, big weekend locally! Lots of NASCAR faces and cars too, Kenny Wallace always puts on a show on the dirt, along with Kenny Schrader with the TORA cars - it's a blast!

Always plenty of Photo-opps, not always a camera when we need one though! The couple to the right is Rusty and Tina, we met them on our Track Trek to Texas Speedway in the spring of '06 - an awesome couple of Race Fanantics! The trio to the left is a group of good-looking guys sitting behind us, didn't get their names - but I'm pretty sure they'll be in our area in '07 - we've been seeing a lot of the same faces year after year. The Great thing about Race Fans is... we don't age! So it's easy to recognize each other as time goes on...
This is the space usually reserved for the burnout - but guess what, didn't get one, second year in a row for the Cup Race. Mark Martin is "Old School" (that was his story anyway). We kind of got over that - but 2006 might take awhile. Because Tony WON! Amy Young, Paula Sullivan and NASCarla sat breathlessly under the Flagstand, awaiting our hero's climb to the top, only to be denied. He did run out of gas, and wasn't aware that he'd even won until he pulled onto pit road. But we didn't know that he didn't know... Isn't that the way it is when you're in that kind of relationship with a NASCAR driver? We'll wait all year Tony, 'cause we know you'll do it again!
Here's a couple of pic's of the wait for the shuttle. It's amazing how quickly some of these drunk rude people move while cutting in line! We always seem to get in the same kind of line as we end up in at the grocery store - you know, the one that never moves, or has the coupon hoarder???? Geeze....
